Description
We need your help in this election from now till Oct 14th.
1. Have you ever tried to meet your MPs to discuss legislative issues? We have. Unfortunately, only 2 out of 8 Calgary Members of Parliament saw it fit to meet with voters in their ridings to talk bill C-61 even we started trying to arrange the meetings from early August.
To Industry Minister Jim Prentice's credit, while he didn't have time to fulfill his electoral duty to meet voters in his riding, he did send his non-elected aid to meet us instead.
Without naming names, we were told by aid to one MP that "it is not possible to schedule a meeting in the foreseeable future."
2. We are holding this meeting to discuss how best to advance the Fair Copyright issues in this 2008 Federal election.
When the Calgary MPs, including Prime Minister Harper and Minister Prentice took our votes for granted and decided they don't need to be in Calgary to hear the voters' questions and concerns, lets give them some reasons to come back to their own ridings to earn our votes for a change.
In a democracy, our voices should make a difference. As we have seen in the recent flip & flop of the leaders' debates arrangement, we know they can hear our voices when we speak loud and clear.
Are you ready to speak loud and clear? Please join us in this meeting to make a difference.
P.S. It should be noted that the two MPs took time to meet us to discuss Fair Copyright issues were Rob Anders and Lee Richardson. At least they try to listen.
