Description
Let's kick off the TAA's political organizing for 2008 in style!
We're going to hold a political action kickoff event with our brothers and sisters of UFAS (United Faculty & Academic Staff). In the evening of Tuesday, September 16th, members of the TAA and UFAS will join together for a rally to get our political work for 2008 officially fired up!
We'll hear from union and political leaders about what's at stake in 2008 and what we can (and should) do about it. Speakers include:
* Madison Mayor Dave Cieslewicz
* AFT-Wisconsin president Bryan Kennedy
* AFL-CIO Wisconsin Executive Vice President Sara Rogers
* 62nd Assembly District Rep and former AFT-Wisconsin political director Cory Mason
* 78th Assembly District Rep and (hopefully!) future chair of the state legislature's powerful Joint Finance Committee Mark Pocan
* High-level surrogate for the Obama campaign
So come on out and rally with us for political change in 2008 - and bring all your TAA friends along for a great time!
