Cardiff Web Scene (http://www.cardiffwebscene.com) and Nocci (http://www.noccinet.com) have joined forces for their end-of-year event, and are proud to bring you the very first "Ignite" event in the UK.
If you had five minutes on stage what would you say?
What if you only had 20 slides and they rotated automatically after 15 seconds?
Around the world, web enthusiasts, creatives and entrepreneurs have been putting together Ignite nights to show their answers and now Cardiff Web Scene and Nocci are bringing Ignite to the UK.
Ignite was started in Seattle in 2006 by Brady Forrest and Bre Pettis. Since then hundreds of 5 minute talks have been given across the world. There are thriving Ignite communities in Seattle, Portland, Paris, and NYC and it is an internationally recognised format for producing dynamic, high energy and engaging presentations, with topics as wide ranging as “How to produce a low-budget horror movie”, “Did today’s architecture cause the financial crisis” and “How to use public transport without going mad”.
But the craze has not yet been brought to the UK.

But more importantly, if you would like to do an Ignite presentation then we would love to hear from you. We're accepting submissions from today. The format is simple: come up with a subject that you’re passionate about, it can be on any topic (it doesn’t have to be creative, cultural or web related), it can be serious or fun – the only rule is that you can’t talk about yourself, your company or one of your projects. Then visit www.cardiffwebscene.com to sign up.
But if you'd just like to come along to watch a few inspiring presentations and then do some relaxed networking then please come along and join us in the fantastic new Sodabar (http://www.thesodabar.com). Entry is FREE, you dont need a ticket AND we'll be providing food, too. So there's no excuses!
