Vote YES on the California High Speed Rail Bond Measure in the November general election!
=======================================
• SF to LA in 2.5 hours
• Trains would travel at 220mph
• SD and Sacramento to be included as well
• Create 450,000 jobs throughout the state (due to economic growth resulting from CAHSR)
• 10,000 fewer auto accidents every year
• Reduce carbon dioxide emissions equivalent to removing 1.4 million cars from the road
• It will pay for its construction cost in the long run
• Reduce CO2 emissions by over 17.6 billion lbs/year
• Reduce California’s oil consumption 22 million barrels/year
• Induce denser development, limiting sprawl
• Half the cost of expanding freeways and airports to meet future travel demand
-----------------------------------------------------------
High Speed Rail could eliminate the need to construct:
+2970 lane miles of highway
+91 airport gates
+5 additional airport runways
