Sponsored by the Confederation House, the International Oud Festival overtakes Jerusalem every year with the delicate sound of this traditional Arab lute, an instrument enthusiastically embraced all over the Mediterranean. The Festival gathers the best oudists from at home and abroad and presents them in all their fast-picking glory on stages around Jerusalem. This Jerusalem Theatre performance combines the voice of popular songbird Etti Ankri and musical arrangements of the poetry of Yehuda Halevi, all augmented by the de rigeuer oud.
