About 80 activists belonging to the Free Burma Coalition -Philippines
(FBC-Phils) and the Sulong CAHRIHL! (Coalition for Human Rights and
International Humanitarian Law) will run around the academic oval of the
University of the Philippines to call for the protection of human rights
in the Philippines and Burma. The runners will assemble at the Sunken
Garden grandstand at 7:30 am and start the run around the campus at 8:00
am. A program is scheduled at the grandstand at 10:00 am. Hundreds of
students and human rights advocates are expected to join the program at
10:00 am.

Also to be set up is the photo-petition signing campaign for the release
of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and all political prisoners. A booth will be
set up at the grandstand from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. The FBC-Phils is
collecting 8,888 photo /signatures for the "8,888 faces to free Daw Aung
San Suu Kyi" which will go live at <www.8888faces.org> soon!

In 2005, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was awarded the Edinburgh Freedom of the City. A magnolia tree was planted in West Princes Street Gardens in her honour. Join us here for a candlelit vigil to remember all those struggling everyday in Burma. Please wear red.
