Description
A special bi-annual event in which people across the world who have signed a special pink pledge shirt join together in wearing them to:
1) Send a loud, non-confrontational message of resistance to bullies
2) Identify themselves to victims as a source of support willing to help, now AND in the future
3) Draw attention to the effects of bullying, and stimulate passive bystanders into action
More than 1300 schools, workplaces and clubs representing almost 1,000,000 people across the world have registered to take a STAND against bullying during an International STAND UP to Bullying Day.
New participants can register for free at http://www.standupday.com
All materials are available on the website, as are STAND UP Pledge Shirts.
ABOUT THE SHIRTS:
Ordering pledge shirts helps to create and support initiatives aimed at stopping bullying throughout the year. They are 100% custom made for this event by the supplier, BullyClothing.com. 100% cotton, cut to fit with high quality screens. They come tagged/folded and wrapped for each participant. $10 each + $2 s & h.
WHY PINK?
The color of the pledge shirts is based on a STAND that was taken by Travis Price and David Shepherd, two students who purchased a bunch of pink tank tops and handed them out to their classmates after another student was bullied for wearing a pink shirt the previous day.
