Description

FREE!

The Delaware Humanities Forum’s successful books and authors series makes its next stop in Wilmington’s Little Italy—bringing together readers, performers and the author of "The Saint of Lost Things," Christopher Castellani, for lively book talk at Union City Grille on July 15, 2009 at 7pm.

How does it work? Read the book…join us for the discussion. Each event will begin with a brief dramatic reading of the featured novel, performed by actors from City Theater Company of Wilmington. There is no fee to participate and no registration required. (RSVPs, to rsvp@dhf.org or here on Facebook are appreciated.) Each venue offers a full menu of appetizers, entrees, desserts, and cocktails for purchase. Wilmington's Ninth Street Book Shop has copies of the books for sale.

Interpreting Dreams features fiction novels that interpret the diverse history of Delaware’s people and span two centuries. The series looks at the dreams of people struggling to survive slavery, fit in with post-war America or find their bearings despite cultural disorientation. Each book is beautifully written, heartfelt, insightful and has some basis in Delaware culture. Visit our website (www.dhf.org) to learn more about this series.

This books and authors program is part of Delaware Humanities Forum's 35th anniversary celebration, Picturing Delaware: Inside and Outside the Frame. Contact DHF at (302) 657-0650 for more information.

(The final installment takes place downtown at Presto! Coffee Bar & Bistro, on August 14, 2009 at 7pm, when the topic will be The Language of Good-bye by Maribeth Fischer.)
