SHARE OUR STRENGTH'S MISSION
Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation® is the nation’s premier culinary benefit dedicated to making sure no kid in America grows up hungry.

EVENT DETAILS
* Taste of the Nation Portland will bring together 50 of the region’s finest restaurants, 20 stellar wineries and 4 top breweries, offering samples of their best food and drink.
* Adding to the festivities live music and an exciting silent auction offering such tempting items as weekend getaways, winemakers' dinners and unusual wines.
* Since its inception in 1988, Taste of the Nation Portland has raised more than $1.1 million for hunger relief locally and abroad.

ABOUT SHARE OUR STRENGTH'S TASTE OF THE NATION
With more than 12 million children facing hunger in America, and one in five Oregon children living in homes where regular meals are uncertain, Taste of the Nation events promote awareness of Share Our Strength’s efforts across the nation. Funds raised through Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation support the most effective organizations that feed hungry children, as well as advocates pursuing long-term solutions to the challenge of hunger, both locally and nationally.

HUNGER IN OREGON
* Every month at least 192,000 people in Oregon and Clark County, Washington, eat meals from emergency food boxes.
* Nearly 40% of people receiving emergency food are children.
* An estimated 47% of households needing help have at least one working member.
