BRONTIDE – www.myspace.com/brontidetheband
Brontide are a new band featuring former I Was A Cub Scout drummer William Bowerman. The trio deliver complex yet danceable polyrhythms not unlike a meeting of minds ‘tween Battles and Russian Circles. Instrumental with the emphasis on ‘mental’, the band will release their debut EP via Holy Roar (Rolo Tomassi, Gallows, Cutting Pink With Knives) in February. A fabulously exciting prospect.
THE INVISIBLE – www.myspace.com/theinvisiblethree
Signed to Matthew Herbert’s Accidental label, this London-based trio’s meticulously crafted avant-rock taps into the rawest soul and the most-glistening electro, while frontman Dave Okumu has a set of most intoxicating pipes on him. They’ve been called Britain’s answer to TV On The Radio in the press more than once, and it’s easy to hear why – this is pigeonhole-skipping stuff that’s as geared for the heart as it is designed for the head, clever of design but executed with an edge of utmost emotive force.
THREE TRAPPED TIGERS – www.myspace.com/threetrappedtigers
One of Clash’s ones to watch for 2009, London-based three-piece Three Trapped Tigers’ wonderfully accessible instrumental material – math-rock gone wobbly – has had our office bouncing about for some months. Initially an improv’ outfit, the band developed their sound into something more focused, and a self-titled EP released in late 2008 confirmed their epic potential – this is Holy F*ck excitement meets immense precision, and it impressed Strokes producer Gordon Raphael so much he immediately offered to record them. Do not miss!
Plus DJs from Clash and more, drinks offers and FUN.

BRONTIDE @ 5PM
THREE TRAPPED TIGERS @ 6PM
THE INVISIBLE @ 7PM
