THE 24th ANNUAL JURIED STUDENT ART EXHIBITION
[April 2nd-24th]
This three week exhibit will feature the artwork of the bright and talented students at the college. Any student can submit multiple works and then the selected juror will curate a show from the submissions.
This year's juror will be College of Charleston alumnus Brian Rutenberg. Currently living and working in New York City, Brian is an abstract landscape painter. "As a young and ambitious painter, he sought to capture a unique representation of the landscape through abstraction. The base of his interest stems from growing up between Pawley’s Island and Charleston, where the river and lake merge with ocean. These early childhood memories continue to be a presence in his painting." (forumgallery.com)

This year's prize judge will be College of Charleston Alumnus Max Miller. Miller graduated in 2002 with a double B.A. in Studio Art and Art History. Max was accepted into the Charles H. Cecil Studios in Florence, Italy during the summer of 2004. By January of 2005 he was teaching beginner sculpture at Cecil Studios in the morning, and studying painting in the afternoons. Under Cecil his understanding of beauty, anatomy and composition flourished like never before. Miller currently resides in Charleston.
