Description
Hokuloa Outrigger Canoe Club, will host the Ventura Channel Challenge on Saturday, June 6, 2009. Registration opens at 7:00 am and races begin at 8:00 am from Harbor Cove Beach in Ventura Harbor and conclude at 3:00 pm, followed by an awards ceremony.
More than 20 outrigger canoe clubs from throughout Southern California, Arizona and Nevada will compete in divisions for men, women, and coed teams and age groups ranging from under 16 through over 55. The Ventura Channel Challenge is a 12 mile open ocean race, with as many as 50 colorful outriggers in a single race with spectacular split second finishes.
Our Paddler parking arrangement has changed from previous years. Please see important parking information below:
- Please be advised that all paddlers MUST park in the remote parking lot where parking and shuttle service are free. No exceptions.
- You are encouraged to drive to race site, drop passengers and gear, and then proceed to assigned parking and shuttle at Schooner Dr. & Harbor Blvd.
- There is NO RACE PARKING near the businesses of Ventura Harbor Village.

- Guests who are not attending are hidden on the guest list.
- Guests are allowed to bring friends to this event.
