DJ CZECH

http://www.myspace.com/djczech
Most underground-oriented Canadians know the name DJ CZECH, the name is synonymous with the Canadian DJ culture. From dark and dingy basements to the top Canadian Clubs and Festivals, DJ Czech has been a electronica icon in Canada for the past 20 years.
For those living on the west coast of Canada are familiar with the legendary Soul Kitchen weekly event at Tommy Africas Nightclub in Canada's top ski and snowboard destination, Whistler, British Columbia. Few, however, recall that it was DJ Czech who introduced the event to BC over fifteen years ago. Indeed, today, Czech's Soul Kitchen remains the longest running club night in Western Canada, and continues to showcase some of the worlds renowned DJ talent. Thus, Czechs initial step into Canada's Underground in 1989 has spawned a long prosperous career, for Czech has since become a household name for breaks-lovers everywhere.
Vancouver resident for the thirteen years, Czech has further established powerful draw to the already-thriving local Vancouver club scene. His residencies at Lucy Mae Brown Rusty Trombone Sundays and Le club a GO-GO on Thursdays with Vinyl Ritchie (Wicked Lester), coupled with his vast musical knowledge and impeccable turntable skills, have helped to establish Vancouver internationally as one of Canada's leading cities for up front electronic music.
Importantly, though, these residencies have not interfered with his tight touring schedule. Initially self managed, Czech's reputation has led to play at prestigious clubs and massive raves throughout Europe and North America every weekend for last five years. Headlining alongside The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Orbital, Crystal Method, Rabbit in the Moon, Porno for Pyros, and countless others, has not been uncommon for Czech.
His next step - writing and producing his own tracks was inevitable. Constantly building his impressive home studio, his prime outlet for his music so far has been Futuristic Funk Records a joint venture involving himself and two other Vancouverites. Already a label in Vancouvers foreground, Futuristic Funk Records is aimed at showcasing no only Czechs own material, but other Canadian talent as well.
In 2007, Czech moved to the outskirts of Prague with his wife and daughter to soak up the culture and family security of their homeland. Working tireless from his home studio and making a dent on the Eastern European Scene, Czech has been longing for a return to Canada. As one of the most preeminent breaks DJs in the world, Make it Funky is very excited to present his second Canadian Tour since relocating to Prague.

BIG LEAGUE CHU

http://www.myspace.com/bigleaguechu
Colin Chu, better known as Big League Chu, is simply the leading DJ talent in Canada's breakbeat scene today. After over a decade of DJing, his name is synonymous with the funky, party-happy sound that's become Chu's rallying call - and it's one that crowds answer faithfully. Whether it's at his residencies at Toronto's legendary Breakfest events, The Make It Funky Jams, or the large one-off shows that Toronto boasts. In a city renowned as one of North America's largest party scenes, Chu has played alongside the worlds finest, allowing him to develop his own distinct style of breaks. Chu's sets can vary from hard beats to melodic funky down tempo sounds, but always remains a crowd mover. The born and raised Torontonian began spinning in London, Ontario while taking his undergraduate degree in psychology and sociology at The University of Western Ontario. Chu quickly garnered attention at local parties, leading to gigs in Toronto, including the Dose event in the summer of 1999 when he was asked to fill in for Barry Weaver for his second appearance in the city. He so impressed organizers that Chu was then asked to play the 14,000 plus crowd at the annual Dose Freakin Halloween event later that year, and as since become a mainstay for Toronto's largest party companies, like Metro Productions (Kickit and Out of Hand), Lifeforce Industries (Dose, Syrous and Renegades), Empire, and Liquid Adrenaline. As of late Big League Chu has found himself working on tracks again in the studio so keep your ears to the ground on upcoming new beats
ROBB G (Promo Records, Toronto)

http://www.myspace.com/robbg123
When the Plump DJs were asked in a recent interview who the most exciting producers are at the moment, they stated Robb G alongside Justice and Switch. He's had releases and remixes on In Stereo, Streetwise, Eastern Bloc, 2 Wars, Botchit as well as his own Laidback Lab and Promo Records imprints. His "12 Inch Therapy" single was declared "THE tune of Miami" as it was played (sometimes twice) at every major event at last year's Winter Music Conference. The release received glowing reviews in URB, DJ, iDJ and Mixmag, hit #12 on the DMC Buzz Charts as well as became the number 1 most requested song on Sirius Radio's Boombox Channel. Robb and his label are hot off two nominations at the 2008 years Breakspoll awards and he now holds a residency on Sirius Satellite Radio.
Behind the decks, Robb G is known for speedy beatmatching and continuous layered mixing charged with a head-banging body thrash. Seeing him live, there is no questioning that this is a man who truly loves what he does. He landed his first residency at the young age of 15 and in the decade and a half since, his hard work ethic and electric performances have taken him to Europe, across the US and more than 30 Canadian cities.
