Description
Hear Mark’s whole incredible, mysterious story from beginning to end, as it may have been told in the early years of the Jesus Movement, before the rise of Christianity.
This two-hour event will use spoken word, music and audience participation to share the details found in Mark, from Jesus' baptism by John the Baptist to his resurrection.
“I think for most people it’s a completely new way of experiencing the gospel, which we’re accustomed to hearing in small bits and pieces on Sunday mornings,” Rev. Bert Marshall, a graduate of Yale Divinity School, said. “The Gospel of Mark has what many scholars believe to be an ‘oral residue’ — that is, it retains some aspects of oral presentation and has some elements of language and structure that put one in mind of oral culture, or storytelling.”
