Description

The Town of Farragut’s 2009 election is serving as the first pilot project of the new Knox County “Convenience Voting” law passed by the Tennessee legislature in 2008. This pilot project allows Farragut’s voting center at the Farragut Town Hall to be open for 20 days before an election. Voting on election day, usually held at Farragut High School, will be held at the convenience voting center at Town Hall allowing for continual voting from March 18 through election day on Tuesday, April 7. “Convenience Voting” in county-wide elections will allow voters to cast their ballot at a number of centers, similar to the current early voting, but for a longer period of time and including the actual election day. Convenience voting will also reduce costs and potential for voting fraud. Times throughout the Farragut “Convenience Voting” vary from week to week and are as follows: March 18 - 28, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.; March 30 - April 4, 12 to 8 p.m.; and April 6 and 7, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Polls closed on Sundays.
