Description
The Revue Cinema would like to invite you to two free screenings next week:
MONDAY DEC. 3, 7PM: REMEMBER MONTREAL
Local MP Peggy Nash is hosting her second FREE SCREENING at the Revue on Monday Dec. 3 at 7pm. Donations will be accepted for the Redwood Women's Shelter.
Featured film: KILLER'S PARADISE
The film, Killer's Paradise, directed by Toronto-based Giselle Portenier, uncovers the horrific situation in Guatemala, where 2,000 women have been murdered since 1999 and the perpetrators gone unpunished.
Nash is sponsoring the screening to highlight the Dec. 6 National Day of Remembrance and Action, established in 1991 to mark the tragic murders two years earlier of 14 young women who were studying engineering at l'Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal.
Join Nash at the Revue for the screening of an important film to mark an important day. (Visit the NFB's website to find out more about the film.)

SUNDAY DECEMBER 9, 2PM: GARBAGE! The Revolution Starts at Home
Two years ago, local filmmaker Andrew Nisker convinced his friends the McDonald family to stop throwing out their garbage.
Their experience with an accumulating pile of trash over three months and the story of where our hyper-consumerism and wasteful lifestyles lead is the subject of Nisker's just-released documentary: "Garbage! The Revolution Starts at Home."
The Revue offers a FREE SCREENING Sunday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. Nisker and the McDonald family mother-daughter team will attend the screening for questions and discussion. Councillor Gord Perks, who's interviewed in the film, will also drop by.
"If we have to wait for politicians and corporations to make the change, it will be a long time coming," Nisker, 38, told a local reporter.
The McDonalds have altered their lifestyle after generating 83 bags of trash and 145 kilos of compost in 12 weeks. Come get inspired to go green for the holiday season.
