On Saturday, August 15th, over 525 Cortona alumni, faculty, staff, and friends from the past four decades gathered in Atlanta to reminisce, share photos, scrapbooks and tell stories about their Cortona experience. Many traveled great distances for this special 40th reunion celebration. Founding Director Jack Kehoe, and directors Larry Millard, R.G. Brown, Rick Johnson, and the late Yancey Robertson were honored while everyone enjoyed pizza, Italian wine, and this treasured opportunity to reconnect.

Available to view at the event, and for purchase to benefit the "Friends of Cortona," the SUMMER OF JOY. is a newly re-mastered edition of the original 1978 film about the UGA Cortona program narrated by Emilio Pucci with new footage of the campus, as well as interviews with Jack Kehoe and Rick Johnson. A bonus DVD includes the Alumni slide show featuring photos sent in by former students from 1970 through 2009.

A limited edition of the QUARANTESIMO commemorative posters is also available. This handsome 17 x 22 poster includes a rich full color image with true embossing & letterpress of the special 40th anniversary logo, all on an exceptional paper stock.
