FACEBOOK and OPENSOCIAL Discussion

This next meeting at Google is very exciting. Google's new Opensocial network will be a prominent topic for discussion, and we have an expert from Google presenting on OpenSocial. Prominent social network blogger, Dave McClure has agreed to be our Master of Ceremonies.

Here is the agenda so far:

6:30 Meet in building 43, lobby--get visitor badges and move to Tunis Talk room on the 2nd floor

7:00 Patrick Chanezon from Google talks about OpenSocial
7:45ish- OPEN : participants are welcome to share their Facebook and OpenSocial applications, please contact Lawrence Sinclair in advance (Lawrence.Sinclair on gmail) to help guarantee this opportunity.

The plan for the Google presentation is as follows:

- what is opensocial
- why is google doing this?
- overview of the api
- look at 5 sample social apps to see what the code looks like
- quick comparison with fb api
- demo of a few apps in several social sites: orkut, hi5, plaxo, ning
- QA session.
