------------------------------------------
LBB Events and Relentless Iota Productions are bringing the Vagina Monologues to the stage at Ambrosia in Joliet. All proceeds will benefit the Sexual Assault Service Center of Will County.
This is the eleventh year that The Vagina Monologues has been used to promote a larger cause, V-Day. The V-Day movement began on Valentine’s Day, 1998, with a benefit performance of “The Vagina Monologues” at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom. Since then V-Day performances have taken place around the world between February 14th and April 30th to raise money for organizations that provide services to victims/survivors of various forms of violence.
The performance is at 7 p.m., April 25 at Ambrosia, 2771 Black Road, Joliet.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students and seniors with ID.
The event includes a showcase of local art and gourmet treats beginning at 5pm.
The Cast Party, (right after the show), includes live music to support the cause featuring Big Dog Mercer and Catsplash. Open to the public ($5 at the door $3 with advance purchase of tickets).
