Cuts and sores on feet can lead to serious infection.
Fact #3:
Often, children cannot attend school barefoot.
Fact #4:
In Ethiopia, approximately one million people are suffering from Podoconiosis, a debilitating and disfiguring disease caused by walking barefoot in volcanic soil.
Fact #5:
Podoconiosis is 100% preventable by wearing shoes.

TOMS Shoes is hosting “One Day Without Shoes,” Thursday, April 16 to raise awareness of the more than 40 percent of the world who live without shoes every day.

Come to Brumby Beach from noon to 6 p.m. and dance barefoot to live music, jump shoeless on our moonwalk and watch the TOMS Shoes documentary to learn more. If you already own a pair of TOMS shoes, "Style Your Sole" and decorate your own signature pair.

At 5:30 p.m. participate in a barefoot march from Brumby to Bolton to raise awareness about the issue of shoelessness.

If you can't make it out to the event, pledge to go barefoot for the entire day or just long enough to raise awareness!
