Description
Join Heathrow Flashmobbers in a Europe-wide Flash Mob taking place on the same day at 6 airports across Europe!
Flash Heathrow! Flash Paris! Flash Frankfurt! Flash Schipol! Flash Brussels! Flash Dublin!
12 noon - on the dot
Flash your red tshirt in the departures section of Heathrow Terminal 1
Each airport will sing their entry to the Eurovision Song Contest being held that evening in Moscow as well as other eurovision classics from the past (song-sheets provided)
The songs chosen for Heathrow are, decade by decade:
* Just a Little Bit (Gina Gee, 8th in 1996)
* Making Your Mind Up (Bucks Fizz, won in 1981)
* Waterloo (Abba, won in 1974)
* Congratulations (Cliff Richard, came second in 1968)
Join us! Bring your friends, wear a red tshirt, bring instruments, download your favourite eurovision song onto your ipod or phone, wear a silly hat or wig, dust off your dancing shoes, let's party!
Now for the serious bit: airport expansion is seriously bad for local people, increased noise, air pollution and especially the climate. The aviation industry want to expand airports across the UK and Europe, but opposition is huge and the scientists are telling us we have to drastically cut emissions if we are to beat climate change. Flashmobs are a fun way to highlight the real opposition there is to expansion at airports across Europe. And here's another big chance to show our opposition to a 3rd runway at Heathrow.
See you Heathrow Terminal 1 Departures at 12 noon on the dot! Tell BAA to get in tune! No Third Runway!

Ooh ahh – No Third Runway
Ooh ahh, we don’t want more
Ooh ahh, Saving Sipson
You know what we’re fighting for
Ooh ahh – No Third Runway
Ooh ahh – we don’t need more
Ooh ahh – Saving Sipson
It’s a fight you can’t ignore.

"Waterloo": by Abba 1974
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gu1q17rUkVU
DfT – you’ll be defeated, we’ll win the war
BAA – no more runways for ever more
Heathrow – couldn’t expand if it wanted to.
Runway three – finally facing its Waterloo
BAA – finally facing its Waterloo
The Government has to refuse
It’s not long now till they lose
---
"Congratulations": by Cliff Richard 1968
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=us3dQ0nnlHY
Congratulations and Celebrations
When we tell everyone there’ll be no
Runway Three
Congratulations and Celebrations
We’ll want the world to know how
happy we will be.

"Making Your Mind Up": by Bucks Fizz 1981

You gotta see some sense, and then you
gotta turn it round
Coz you know that the plans for your
third runway
have already gone aground
But soon you will find that there comes
a time
For making your mind up
