Think the debate on global warming is over? Think again. A former Senior Scientist for Climate Studies at NASA and current University of Alabama research scientist, Dr. Roy Spencer will share his thoughts with us.
Join The James Madison Institute and Collegians for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT) for a pre-lecture reception (for the lecture outlined below). Complimentary drinks and light appetizers will be served.
The reception will be held at 6:00 PM at the University Conference Center (inside Doak Campbell Stadium) in the Pensacola Room on the 5th Floor. Join JMI staff and friends for this hour-long reception.
Then, follow us over to Bellamy 102 for the lecture by Dr. Roy Spencer, which will begin at 8:00 P.M.
Dr. Roy Spencer's BIO:
Roy W. Spencer, Ph.D., is a Principal Research Scientist at the University of Alabama in Huntsville where he directs a variety of climate research projects. He received his Ph.D. in Meteorology from the University of Wisconsin in 1981, and was formerly a Senior Scientist for Climate Studies at NASA. Dr. Spencer also serves as the U.S. Science Team Leader for the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer for EOS (AMSR-E) flying on NASA’s Aqua satellite. He is co-developer of the original satellite method for precise monitoring of global temperatures from Earth-orbiting satellites, for which he was awarded NASA’s Medal for Exceptional Scientific Achievement. He has authored numerous weather and climate research articles in scientific journals, and has provided congressional testimony several times on the subject of global warming. Dr. Spencer is the author of the New York Times bestseller, “Climate Confusion: How Global Warming Hysteria Leads to Bad Science, Pandering Politicians, and Misguided Policies that Hurt the Poor.”
