Wheels is an informal car show. Bring any car you like, there are no restrictions. At the end of the day we choose our favourite cars. Please help the Air Ambulance collection at the gate.
Wheels Display 2009 – Wed 17th June at The Blue Lias 7:00pm

Please approach and leave from the Stockton end of the lane to avoid congestion on the narrow canal bridge. Take care at the A426 at the Stockton crossroads.

Park in the field on the LHS immediately inside the pub entrance (see Google Earth screen print below). If this field fills up use the overflow field indicated. Please leave the grassy area in front of the marquee for bikes, and please leave the tarmac pub car park for pub regulars.

Please be very careful driving around on site as there will be many people wandering around distracted by looking at static vehicles rather than where they are going or what is about to run them over.

Those of you with the capability, and inclination, on exit please refrain from doing any static burnouts in the pub entrance as it damages the tarmac and pebbledashes anyone or anything behind due to the loose gravel. This is a specific request from the pub landlord and we’d like to go back next year so please, if you must, and we strongly advise against it of course, just stick to a single rolling burnout once out onto the public highway and off the pub property.

There will be a collection at the entrance towards the cost of awards and in aid of the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. Entry is free, and you don’t have to make a donation, but if you should wish to do so we would suggest £2 per vehicle might be a suitable sum. The first £30 will go towards the awards the rest to WNAA. WNAA have also been invited to come along and set up a stall selling WNAA clothing, pens, key rings, etc so please checkout what they have to offer.

There will be no general voting for favourites this year. Last year the numbers of votes and people attending the 9:00pm awards presentation in the marquee were at a level that we thought a change might be in order (but this can be reversed for future events if there is sufficient demand and sufficient volunteers to help run the event). The CWMC committee will vote for their favourites in each class and otherwise agree on class winners and overall favourite. The intention is to get the results out more quickly and place cards on the winning vehicles inviting the owners to the awards presentation at 9:00 in the marquee.

We ask that everyone who wishes to attend registers prior to the event (see http://www.cwmc.org.uk/cwmc/Wheels.htm) and joins the mailing list (if nothing else) in case there are any last minute changes, eg. like when the field was flooded in 2007 and we had to postpone the event the night before. You dont have to provide an address if you dont want to (just put a full stop in the relevant input fields on the form) but we ask that you do provide details of your vehicle, the class you want to enter, your name and a contact email and phone number so we can contact you if you win a prize.

On the night remember to bring a donation for WNAA, and a print out of your entry number (and some sticky tape for it). When you have parked don’t forget to display your entry number on your vehicle so the committee members can identify the vehicles they want to vote for. Vehicles are judged purely by their appeal to the individual voting, this is not a concours with set judging rules.

NOTE: When you attempt to register for the event via the web site you will get messages reporting an invalid sercurity certificate. This is because we didn’t want to spend the money on a valid one but still wanted to use the https envrypted pages. If you click the right combination of buttons in your browse you should be able to add an exception to allow it's use and carry on to the registration pages.

If you want to help spread the word about this event feel free to forward this email to anyone you think may be interested, there is also an A4 PDF poster available from the URL mentioned earlier.
