THIS SATURDAY TAKE CLASS WITH
[beg./int.] RACHEL SADANG x JEFF LACONICO
MEET JEFF LACONICO
Jeff Laconico was born in Quezon City, Philippines on July 24, 1988. He migrated to California at the age of 8, but was first introduced to the dance scene when he moved to New Jersey at the age of 16. Since then he's come to enjoy performing, but more importantly he has found major appreciation for the art of choreography.
Credits can go back to multiple college hip hop dance competitions with several different dance troupes. His biggest competition occurred when he got the chance to perform for the first ever Prelude East Coast Dance Competition in NJ. Other credits include back up dancing for Filipino artists such as Regina Velasquez and Pops Fernandez. Training credits go to his mentors from Culture Shock New York as a Future Shock NY Member while under the teaching of Culture Shock NY's Jennifer Yee and Jansen Mao as well as Ellie Burke and Dennis Caindec of Culture Shock Los Angeles.
Jeff is now a co-director for the Project D Dance Company -- created in Bergenfield, New Jersey by Bernie Armendi. He is inspired by dancers who use the art of musicality in their choreography as well as anything that is unique and innovative. He loves his company and has grown to call Project D his family. He currently teaches Project D Dance Company Classes at Step By Step Dance Sport and invites anyone who has the desire to grow as a dancer. He lives everyday by his main motto of "E.L.E." --- EVERYBODY LOVES EVERYBODY!
MEET RACHEL SADANG
At the age of 14, Rachel began taking ballroom and hip hop classes under the care and instruction of Will Barrientos at CreativeImage Studio. Since then, her love to dance has grown tremendously! At 15, her friend dragged her to Project D Dance Company auditions when she didn’t really want to go :[ But now, she’s truly thankful to that friend because she sees Project D as a family of some ridiculously talented dancers that has made her grow into the dancer that she is today. Her greatest inspiration is definitely Jeff Viray of Team Millennia and she really wants him to sign her notebook dunks!
[int./adv.] ARBER MATAI x LEXINE DELUCA
MEET ARBER MATAI
A native of West Orange, New Jersey, Arber Matai has only been dancing for a year but has been greatly inspired by everyone around him -- striving to be a great dancer. His main influence and inspiration for movement comes from pacman (of Marvelous Motion) who has influenced Arber's popping style, specifically waving. Arber is a cool individual that is dedicated to both his team and his personal growth as a dancer. Nevertheless, Arber just loves to help people when given the opportunity.
MEET LEXINE DELUCA
Lexine DeLuca was born and raised in New Jersey. She had her first taste in dancing when she was persuaded to perform in a Filipino Cultural dance with her cousins. Despite the scarce opportunities towards learning dance, most of her knowledge in popping and waving originated from finding videos on Youtube. However, it wasn't until her late Sophomore year when she realized how much dance influenced her life. After four years of being on her highschool's step team, she decided to audition for Project D during the summer of 2008. Ever since then, she has grown to appreciate all different types and styles of dance and now considers it to be her outlet.
