Description

Enroll in Clown College for a day!
Grab your team of six and register at the event for your chance at competing in a series of ten goofy, challenging events. Space is limited to the first 40 teams. Participants must be 16 years of age and older. The team that scores the most points throughout the competition will earn its members the title of Valedictorians and a prize that Bozo himself would envy!

How it Works...
Check-in at the registration desk in the SRWC by 10:45 p.m. Upon registering, your team of six will receive a schedule of activities to compete in throughout the night. You will compete in each of the 10 activities twice, once as the competing team and once as the defending team. Points will only be awarded when your team is playing as the competing team. When your team is the defending, you should wear the clown noses provided.

Some activities require one competitor, while some require several. Upon check-in, you will receive two wristbands that must be worn on each wrist. The red wristband signifies when you have competed and the yellow wristband signifies when you have defended. To ensure that every player is participating equally, the referee at each activity will mark your wristband accordingly. You may not compete/defend in an activity again until everyone on your team has gone an equal amount of times. Teams may choose who they wish to have participate for each event at their own discretion, keeping in mind that that player may not compete again until everyone on their team has had a chance to compete. Vice versa, a player may not defend again until everyone on their team has had a chance to defend.

The Prize
Each member on the winning team will take home a prize package consisting of: an Anniversary Circus T-shirt; a $25 Gift Certificate to the SRWC; and two tickets to the Barnum and Bailey Circus in Columbus, OH.

Ringmaster's Revenge
Location: Climbing Wall
Activity Description: Contenders will race defenders to the top of the wall. If the contender beats the defender to the top, their time will be recorded. If the defender beats the contender to the top, the competitor's time will be discarded. This activity must be completed in less than three minutes. The team at the end of the night with the quickest time will receive first place points.

Ring of Fire
Location: Basketball Court 4
Activity Description: Two contenders will face-off against two defenders in this head-to-head competition. Contenders will have one minute to attempt to throw as many balls as they can through any of five hanging “rings of fire.” Ten points will be given for each ball that goes through a hoop. The catch? Two defenders will be defending the “rings of fire” to try to prevent contenders from scoring.

Aerial Adventure
Location: Basketball Court 2
Activity Description: Two rope ladders are strung at a 45-degree angle over a large, air-filled cushion. Contenders will have three chances to race a defender to the top of the ladder. If the contender beats the defender to the top, their time will be recorded. If the defender beats the contender to the top, the competitor's time will be discarded. The team at the end of the night with the quickest time will receive first place points. This activity must be completed in less than three minutes.

Juggler's Dome
Location: Basketball Court 4
Activity Description: A team of four contenders will face off against a team of four defenders as each team will be dodging balls and defending their own goal, while also trying sink balls into the opponent’s goal. The contenders will receive 10 points for each goal made and will lose 10 points for each goal scored on them. If the defenders score more goals than the contenders, zero points will be awarded to the contenders. Contenders will have three minutes of play.

Lion's Cage
Location: Basketball Court 1
Activity Description: A team of three contenders and a team of three defenders compete in this challenge. One teammate sits inside a large sphere and the other two teammates will roll the sphere toward 10 giant inflatable pins. Each team competes simultaneously and will have two chances to knock over all 10 pins. The contenders will receive 10 points for each pin knocked over and will lose 10 points for each pin knocked over by the defenders. If the defenders knock over more pins than the contenders, zero points will be awarded to the contenders. This activity must be completed in less than three minutes.

Balancing Act
Location: Basketball Court 2
Activity Description: Contenders will climb on to a foam padded bull and try to hold on as long as they can without falling off. The intensity of their ride will be controlled by four defenders who will be pulling on bungee cords to try to knock them off. Contenders will receive one point for each second they stay on the bull. Contenders will have three minutes of play.

Clown Kickers
Location: Basketball Court 3
Activity Description: Players are attached to six parallel poles, allowing them to only move from side to side. A team of contenders will play a team of defenders. The contenders will receive 10 points for each goal made and will lose 10 points for each goal scored on them. If the defenders score more goals than the contenders, zero points will be awarded to the contenders. Contenders will have three minutes of play.

Equilibrium
Location: Basketball Court 2
Activity Description: One contender and one defender will climb on top of a rocking pedestal and try to knock each other off within a time limit of three minutes. Contenders will receive one point for each second they stay on the pedestal.

Cannonball Drop
Location: Multipurpose Gym
Activity Description: Contenders will have to score as many points as possible by depositing balls into five equally spaced scoring pods within a three minute time limit. Each scoring pod is guarded by a defender whose aim is to stop the contenders from scoring. This can be done by removing their flag (flag football) or by running them out of bounds to create a dead ball. Contenders must alternate sides when picking up a new ball. A dead ball counts as zero points, the outer pods count as five points and the center pod counts as 10 points.

Ring Around the Big-Top
Location: Track
Activity Description: Each contender will race against a defender through an obstacle course while on their stomachs riding scooters. If the contender beats the defender to the end, their time will be recorded. If the defender beats the contender to the end, the competitor's time will be discarded. This activity must be completed in less than three minutes. The team at the end of the night with the quickest time will receive first place points.
