Description
To celebrate the 4th of July, there will be a massive water balloon fight Revolutionary War style involving 40,000+ water balloons with two teams battling it out.
Two teams will battle it out for around 20 minutes, the Redcoats (Red Team) and the Americans (Blue Team). You don’t need to dress like its colonial era (Though it’s encouraged!) but at least a Blue or Red shirt would be great. I’ll probably be selling some cool looking t-shirts for the event if you need one (or if you need a dry shirt after the event!)
General Guidelines:
If you get hit, act like it was by a huge cannon and die epically for at least 10 seconds before coming back to life and getting back in the game
Keep some distance (at least 15 feet) between teams
No Throwing Water Balloons at Buildings/Cars or people just passing by!
Don't whip a balloon at anyone's face. If it's throw in the air and lands on someone's head that's different, but not thrown directly into another's face.
No Water Guns
Ending: After 20 or so minutes the Americans will launch one last big attack to end it, at which point the National Anthem will play and we’ll all triumphantly sing it together. Immediately afterward if you can help pick up the pieces of water balloons around to keep the park clean that's extremely important so please help out!
Volunteers! If you need volunteer hours I can sign for them, I need as much help as possible with this event, people who can help create balloons please show up 1-3 hours early and hang out with me and we’re going to need lots of help. Please message me saying you can, I’d really appreciate it.
This event is going to be so much fun I can’t wait. We need help spreading the word so please take a few minutes and invite some friends on facebook; it’s a free event so please lend a hand.
JOIN THE FACEBOOK GROUP! I can't mass message all of you to keep you updated about the event and what's happening, so join the group so you can know what's happening and be aware of future events as well.
On July 4th there’s going to be a moment in time when thousands and thousands of water balloons are going to be in the sky of Downtown Grand Rapids at the same time… awesome.
