Atlanta has a new white hot producer going under the name Treasure Fingers. You might recognize the name from the remix he did of Snowden’s “Anti-Anti” which served as the initial experiment in disco funk… and has now turned into a full concept.
TF’s latest masterpiece, “Cross The Dancefloor,” is nothing short of brilliant modernized disco funk. Part Chromeo, part Dr. Dre, part Aphex Twin… it is an infectious combo that commands immediate attention when introduced to a dance floor. I’ve watched it happen with my own eyes as people immediately start singing the lyrics and attempting their own dance interpretation.
I’ve heard snippets of future tracks from Treasure Fingers… so I’m just going to say, take my advice and jump on this train now… because everyone is going to be jocking TF in the near future.
" Atlanta DJ du jour Treasure Fingers led a dance party on Saturday night tucked away in the furthest and smallest tent in the festival grounds. Although he was playing against dance-rock heavy weights The Killers and MSRTKRFT, the tent swelled with dancers. Mixing up the French disco of the self-produced track "Cross The Dancefloor" together with electro breaks of his remix of Fergie's "Glamorous" and blended with the freeze-and-release remakes of Pink Floyd and The Mamas And The Papas' tracks seemed only natural as he tweaked and turned one song into the next. This set only proved he can rock out unsuspecting crowds as well as his hometown masses. "

Sammy Bananas is a DJ and Producer based in Brooklyn, NY. Growing up in a household filled with music, Sammy began playing piano at a young age, soon switching to the Saxophone. A key moment in his development as a musician came at age 10, when Sammy's mother confiscated a mix tape that he and his friend Justin had made because it contained Digital Underground's classic "Packet Man". At this defining moment of youthful rebellion, Sammy's love of Hip-Hop was born. Soon, the Saxophone gave way to a pair of Turntables...
As half of the unstoppable DJ duo Certified Bananas, Sammy has honed his jockeying skills into a club science. Since 2004, CB have released a series of acclaimed mixtapes and shaken parties across the country with their eclectic yet slick approach to making crowds go wild. This experience allows Sammy to apply the data gathered from his dancefloor experiments into the formulas of his own remixes, where knowing what makes a great dance tune is essential. Sammy has nearly a decade of experience in music production. With credits ranging from Hip Hop (Lipshcitz, Sontiago), to Indy Rock (remixes for Editors, Chromeo) and to Funk-Pop with his band Miss Fairchild (production of two LPs so far) Sammy is no novice in a world of young bucks.
This Fall, Sammy will add another credit to the list with the release of "High Top Fades" on up and coming record Label Fools Gold (home to Kids Sister, Jokers of the Scene and DJ A-Trak among others.) The remixes on "High Top Fades" draw heavily from Sammy's middle school years, updating 4 classics of the early 90s Hip-Pop cannon to find a home on the dancefloors of today. Incorporating elements of Baltimore Chttp://www.facebook.com/editevent.phplub, Boston Bounce and Electro, Sammy adds grit and flavor to these crowd favorites, upping the tempos and adding snap to the beats. The result is an original brand of new school party breaks that will surely become crate essentials.
