This family-friendly event celebrates the opening of our new science fiction traveling exhibition "Out of This World: Extraordinary Costumes from Film and Television," which features over 30 costumes and related objects from science fiction films and television programs such as Star Wars, Blade Runner, Terminator, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica and Batman!
Visit the Out of This World exhibition, meet stars such as Darth Vader, Sand Trooper, Jango Fett and Tie Fighter Pilot! At 2p.m. enjoy a presentation from Richard Vander Wende, a visual artist and videogame designer who has worked for Lucasfilm, Disney, Blue Sky, Cyan etc. and has been featured in films such as Aladdin.
Visitors are encouraged to dress in their favorite science fiction character’s costume! Museum staff will select the coolest costume worn by one boy, girl, man, and woman, and offer a special prize to the winners of the children’s groups.
$7 for adults, $5 senior/student, includes all galleries. Free for MAC Members
