That means, statistically speaking, if you aren’t experiencing a mental illness, someone you know is: a friend, a family member, a neighbor: anyone can be affected. The good news is that treatment works, and there is hope. The success rates for the treatment of psychiatric disorders are better than the success rates for ANY other physical disorder!
NAMIWalks Chicago is a great way to spread awareness about the impact of mental illness and erase some of the stigma that prevents people from seeking the help they need. This Walk also supports the vital services of NAMI of Greater Chicago, all available to the public free of charge, including information and referrals, support, education, outreach, and advocacy.
