  • NEW DATE!!! NEW TIME!!! SAME GREAT REASON TO SHOP!!!

Join us on Sunday, September 20th for the Tea Party "Buycott" at Whole Foods in Pasadena. We are brining everyone together at 2pm to:

    Whole Foods Market • Arroyo
    ... 465 South Arroyo Parkway
    Pasadena, CA 91105
    626.204.2266

This is a beautiful store, with two stories, underground parking, and the best coffee and wine bars. During your shopping, stop by the Wine Bar and meet with other patriots, and supporters.

The goal of the "Buycott" is to shop at Whole Foods, and show our support for their CEO, John Mackey.

Please note that there are no flyers or other outside literature allowed in the store, and no soliciting of any kind. These are the rules of Whole Foods, and we respect their wishes.

Spread the word to all. Let them know that you support freedom of speech!

  • Paul,

Your last posts were taken down due to vulgar language, and rude sexual innuendo. Your latest post will stay up.

Why would I show up to a protest in Pasadena California when i live in New York. How did I get invited to this group in the first place? I guess my last post got taken down because it asked a serious question that no one was able to answer. Once again:

WHY DO AMERICANS PAY 50% MORE THAN ANY COUNTRY FOR HEALTH CARE?

WHY ARE WE RANKED 50th IN LIFE EXPECTANCY RATES?
    ...
    https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/rankorder/2102rank.html?countryName=United+States&countryCode=us&regionCode=na&rank=50#us

WHY ARE WE RANKED 180th IN INFANT MORTALITY RATES?

    https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/rankorder/2091rank.html?countryName=United+States&countryCode=us&regionCode=na&rank=180#us

If you really loved your country you would be ashamed at these statistics and support health care reform.

I look forward to your responses

  • To the Whole Foods "Boycott" team:

You guys missed a really fun event yesterday at Whole Foods in Pasadena. Strangely, not one of your protesters was present. Several reporters were there to cover your protest. You can imagine their disappointment after your confident (and at times profane) facebook provocations. Perhaps your movement is losing steam? Oh well. Either way, we credit you with get...ting this "buycott" thing going. Our crew had so much fun that we've decided to make it a monthly thing. Thanks again!

    Warm regards,

    Jonathan Wilson

Thank you Tony, Jonathan, and anyone else who helped to organize this event today. I have never had such a good time shopping for groceries!! ;)
I love the idea of monthly mixers, whether it be at Whole Foods or rotating among various locations worthy of our support. The employees were great today, and my friends had fun too. Next time I will make sure not to park in a 2 hour parking place, so I can stay for the whole event! :)
There were a couple of faces I recognized from FB posts that I didn't have the opportunity to meet (wow, there were a lot of bodies packed into that Wine bar!!), but hopefully will have that chance at the next event. Huzzah!

  • Thank you to everyone who attended! We had 100+ people who did far more than just shop. For over three hours, we filled the Wine Bar, met new people, had drinks, ate great food, talked with the Whole Foods staff and laughed so hard we could be heard throughout the two-story complex!

It was just fantastic. Many thanks to those of you who attended. It went so well, that we are looking into doin...g monthly mixers at Whole Foods. You can get more information from http://PasadenaPatriots.com/ and http://912west.org/.

My thanks to Jonathan Wilson from Pasadena Patriots, for helping to make this event a huge success. The entire Whole Foods staff was very impressed with our numbers, and our attitude. More over, they were extremely appreciative that we were there, and that we are so supportive of them. Well done, everyone.

Tony is right. I think it's fine that he contributes to the Democratic party. Heck, if I stopped buying from people OR being friends with people based on that, I would be one sorry sap. What I object to (and this is a for instance) is anyone that would jump on the bigot Jimmy Carter's band wagon and call a whole group of people racist - not out of truth, but only to shut down political discourse.... I will not buy from or be friends with such people.

Macky just believes that government health care forced on everyone will do far more harm than good. that is not immoral. We need reform and that is obvious. Don't let these people convince you that government health care for all is the only answer. We have other, better, workable ideas.

  • Wow! I didn't know John Mackey was a Democrat! That's awesome! Thanks for the information, Paul. By the way, just so you know - the tea party movement is non-partisan and we welcome all-comers as long as they believe in freedom and liberty. Huzzah!

  • Paul,

You have brought up Mr. Mackey's financial contributions twice now. The Buycott is not about his political preference. It's about his right to speak his mind. Many are boycotting Whole Foods because he spoke about health care - even thought they are Democrats, and, as you have ably pointed out, Mr. Mackey has supported the Democratic Party. We support Mr. Mackey's Freedom of Speech in all cases, and will be shopping today between 2pm and 4pm. Hope to see you there.

By supporting whole foods your are supporting a CEO (JOHN MACKY) who gives thousands of dollars to the Democratic party. His family also donate quite a lot. The check for yourself go to

  • See you all tomorrow!

As has been said many times, there may be people there who are boycotting Whole Foods, and are showing up just to engage us - meaning, to get into an altercation with us. Do Not Let This Happen! They have the right to protest and boycott, and they should be allowed to do so. They will be outside. We will be inside - buying food, drinking wine, talking with friends and ma...king new friends.

Remember what we are there for - buying some great food, and having a great time. Don't forget to bring friends! A bunch of people will be gathering at the wine bar on the second floor. It's going to be great!

Thank you all, and much thanks to Jonathan Wilson of the Pasadena Patriots for all of his help in making tomorrow great!

Oh and all you teabaggers out there. John Mackey and his wife give thousands of dollars to the Democrats, so I think your supporting the wrong company.

How did I get invited to this group???? Whole foods has great food and okay prices. They also purchase their energy from renewable sources like wind. All of this is great. The reason I do not shop here anymore is because of their CEO's position on health care. He basically stated that health care is a personal responsibility. This is true to an extent, but my aunt's MS was not an issue of being irresponsible, it was just chance. My aunt spends 1600 a month on heath care and does not have a job. For people to be against universal heath care is immoral and I will not support a company whose CEO takes efforts to defeat it.
