The class will be based on Dave Evans' best-selling book, Social Media Marketing: An Hour a Day, with his permission and cooperation, in partnership with the Austin Entrepreneur Network.
It's ambitious, but we will cover the heart of Social Media Marketing in these two half-day sessions. And it won't be a series of dry lectures. The sessions will be interactive, with plenty of time for Q&A, and time for attendees to work on their own rough draft of a social media marketing plan.
Why you should attend:
• You need practical, step-by-step guidance to create a winning social media program for your business.
• You understand the seismic shift in communications.
Yesterday’s media were “one to many,” relying on limited channels to reach mass markets. This forced you into an expensive competition with others for the chance to speak to your own customers!
The Social Web flips this around: Conversations are now “many to many,” making it less costly for you to reach your customers. It also means it’s less costly for your customers to talk about you, in public. You’ve got to know what they’re saying, and how to participate effectively in those conversations.
What you’ll learn:
• How to connect your business to the Social Web;
• How to automate tasks like following conversations and tracking influencers;
• How to integrate social media marketing into your overall marketing program; and
• How to measure the results.
You’ll walk away with an understanding of social media and how it can literally transform the way you take your business to market. That understanding will help you succeed – whether you are just launching a new business, or looking to take your existing business to the next level.
Who should attend ...
In addition to entrepreneuts, small business owners and marketing/operations officers tasked with building a social media plan for your company will also benefit. (Special pricing available for 2-3 people from the same company.)
This class assumes a working knowledge of social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. The course will focus on strategy, not tactics. In other words, this is not the place to learn how to build a Facebook page; it's the place to decide whether you should incorporate a Facebook page into your overall marketing strategy.
As a bonus, you’ll receive a copy of Dave Evans' book Social Media Marketing: An Hour a Day just for attending.
Don’t hesitate: Space is limited, so sign up today.

For the first time in five years, I’m taking a real vacation, i.e. longer than a 3- or 4-day weekend. Destination: Alaska, on the Royal Caribbean cruise line! I’ll be back around September 25. Internet access on board is pricey, so I probably won’t be sending virtual postcards. I know, you’re heartbroken. But you’ll get over it. *grin*
