EVERY ONE: Save the Children (Canada) The Canadian government alocated $25 Billion to act as a credit backstop during the financial crisis. The US government spent $700 Billion on their program to save the US financial industry. It would cost just $1 Billion to save 1 million children from preventable death. That means that for less than $10 Billion the wo...rld could save every single child projected to die from preventable causes in 2010. Without this commitment it will be difficult for many countries to dramatically reduce infant mortality in their countries. Read more about Pakistan's efforts...

EVERY ONE: Save the Children (Canada) UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today called on world leaders to attend a
summit next September to boost efforts to achieve the Millennium
Development Goals (MDGs)...“In the decade since the Goals were first agreed, we have learned a
great deal about what works, and where we need to focus our efforts.
Evidence shows that ...the Goals can be achieved, even in the poorest
countries, when good policies and projects are backed by adequate
resources.”

Hi Joann - I agree. Saving millions of children's lives is achievable! That is a great message and unfortunately, too many Canadians don't realize it is doable. Please be sure to help educate folks about this issue. Let them know about this campaign in time for the G8/G20.

EVERY ONE: Save the Children (Canada) Copenhagen was a disappointment. I hope that people will continue to make better personal choices and will continue to demand better of our leaders. One thing IS clear, governments won't act on climate and challenges like dramatically reducing infant and maternal mortality unless their constituents make it impossible for them not to. Join the movement...

James you are right that we need to do more as individuals for sure but we need to work on governments to do better and even for corporations to be more responsible. Thanks for your efforts!

Peggy Peacock The EVERY ONE Campaign is very powerful. I love it's broadness, how it brings together so many separate issues like climate change, global disasters, etc to fight for ONE outcome. The video says it all. EVERY ONE matters and EVERY ONE has to end the complacency. Those kids are worth the effort. Very Powerful.

EVERY ONE: Save the Children (Canada) BLOG POST: Progressive blogger The Mound of Sound, wrote a great piece on the impact of climate change on kids referencing Save the Children's Feeling the Heat report.

the-mound-of-sound.blogspot.com
One reason that getting meaningful Canadian public support to fight climate change is so hard is that it's not killing our kids - yet. But it is killing other peoples' kids and soon it'll be killing a lot more of them. ...
EVERY ONE: Save the Children (Canada)

EVERY ONE: Save the Children (Canada) Why is climate change an issue when it comes to saving the lives of children? Here is a photoessay of the work done by Save the Children that shows the link between climate change and natural disasters like drought, typhoon and flood and details how Save the Children is already working to address the impacts of climate change:
