OS X is built on OSS. MacFUSE is just a system-level library, the SSH/FTP/S3 stack is full custom and shares nothing with MacFusion/SSHFS. All the caching and connection robustness sets us apart

Hanno - the key is encrypted against the user login token using windows keychain facilities, then stored in the registry. It's every bit as secure as your user-account is.
