The Stanislaus Chapter had a very informative dinner meeting with great attendance in October. Local family physician and residents met to learn about current health care reform plans, hear how CAFP is advocating for patient care philosophy in Sacramento, and obtain an update on the Stanislaus Family Medicine Residenc...y Program.

CAFP Director of Government Relations Tom Riley presented an excellent update on California's health care reform issues as well as the national health care debate. Tom also updated members on CAFP's opposition to the Governor and Legislature's cost-cutting move that established the Naturopathic Medicine Committee under the Osteopathic Medical Board of California.

The Riverside-San Bernardino Chapter is hosting an end-of-the-year meeting on December 1. The meeting agenda includes a chapter and legislative update, information and selection for the March 2010 CAFP Congress of Delegates, and a Part 2 Asthma SAM review to help prepare members for the required Self-Assessment Module... (SAM) by the ABFM.
