Family Tree Magazine

I love this magazine! It's really gotten better this past year too - and it was good before. The only thing I don't like is waiting for the next issue.

The newest issue was great with all the "gadgets". So many little details about cameras, backup drives and flash drives.

i just ordered som of their book that were on sale. Can't wait for them to get here.

No specific traditions, but we always gather at my parents every Christmas day for dinner and gifts. When I was growing up, we always went to my mom's parents and all the relatives came, too. Do miss them so much!

We always went to my grandparents house on Christmas Eve, my dad's side when I was younger. We didn't have any specific traditions but each year when it was time to open gifts that night we would or in a certain order, which yes takes longer but was still fun. The problem was that we had four J's, two R's, two G's (for Grandma & Grandpa, they were... See More G & G). so going alphabetical didn't always work. One year my cousin Nancy decided that we should 'dress up' for the holiday, luckily that year the airline didn't lose her luggage.

Thanks for the update on Lisa Kudrow's show - I've been keeping my ears/eyes open for it.

I've seen a couple of episodes of "Who Do You Think You Are?" (UK) and am looking forward to the US version. I don't think the changes Ancestry.com has made improve researching in their collections.

Printing out a book for my Mom from Roots Magic so she can see what I have found about her family before her memory gets worse. Trying to find more Revolutionary War ancestors so I can file for supplimentals with DAR. And like others trying to organize.

Getting my genealogy organized and getting another laptop that I can put it all on and be able to get rid of a lot of my extra papers that are taking up so much space in my house.

One little technique that my family used for family photos was to line up all the young cousins by age. Then on the back of the print was the date, location of the gathering and all the names. I am sure that other families used this same idea but it did prove useful over the years to my family.
