Fitchburg State College

Fitchburg State College Open campus forums highlighting the Regional Economic Development Institute (REDI) at Fitchburg State College will be held Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Hammond Campus Center.
Associate Professor of Political Science Joshua Spero, the REDI director, will provide brief overviews of the research institute and lead discussion... about how faculty, staff or students may become REDI researchers or interns, respectively.
The REDI conducts detailed, independent and innovative research for published analyses focused on the 26 cities and towns from across North Central Massachusetts.
The forums will provide an opportunity to learn about current REDI research and considerations for proposing semester-based research projects this academic year on the theme of “North Central Massachusetts as a Distinctive Economic Region.” Prospective REDI researchers are compensated by stipends based on duration and depth of their research, while REDI interns gain departmental academic credit for research assistance to REDI research projects.
Spero will lead open forums on Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. in Hammond Room G-07 and at 3:30 p.m. at the Ellis White Lecture Hall.
