Jupiter is a swank bar just off Davie Street with plush red decor and a great martini list (ya, we tried them all).
We're going to paint Jupiter pink with sexy acts of intrigue and deception from some of Vancouver's best burlesque performers and live music from Blue Morris and the Pink Flamingo Orchestra.

Pink Flamingo Burlesque Our very own Shaboobie Boobarella was interviewed on CBC radio's "On the Coast" program. Also in the interview is Shaboobie's grandmother, Misty Morningstar, who was a burlesque performer back the heyday of Vancouver in the 1950s. Pink Flamingo Burlesque
The Vancouver Intl Burlesque Festival is starting soon! Running from May 1st to the 10th, there is at least one show a night, if not two. The Pink Flamingo Burlesque will be performing on May 2nd at the Red Room.
This morning all the performers and producers gathered at the steps of the Vancouver Art Gallery for a "Fami...ly Portrait" to help promote the festival. Here is one of those photos, taken by William Smithies.

THE MUSIC
Pink Flamingo Burlesque is one of the few burlesque groups today that have burlesque performances set to live “bump n' grind” music -- just like it was done back in the day. The six-piece Pink Flamingo Orchestra will make your hips swing and your shoulders shimmy.
This incredibly versatile band will have your toes tapping to saucy swing, sexy lounge, rockin' surf, and calypso! This includes everything from Bobby Darin to Elvis Presley to Harry Belafonte.
