The 2nd installment of Interesting Vancouver is taking place on Friday October 23rd at The Vancouver Rowing Club. Seeing as food is interesting, and that Foodists tend to approach food
in interesting ways, it should come as no surprise to learn that two
contributors from this site will be giving talks about this very
subj...ect at this year’s event: Eagranie Yuh, aka The Well Tempered Chocolatier and Kevin Broome speaking on “Mindful Eating: The Biography of a Single Bite”.
Sound interesting? Well, you will have to see for yourself. After the
buzz of last year’s event I suspect that tickets will be going fast so get them while you can. And we’ll see you on the 23rd! http://foodists.ca/2009/10/13/foodists-r epresent-at-interesting-vancouver.htmlRead More

The three-hour cooking and eating demonstration will include an overview of tools and equipment, rubs, sauces and marinades, techniques for quick and easy grilling and slow-smoking, plus tall tales and legends from the world of competitive barbecue. You’ll learn from and enjoy cooking demonstrations and samplings of great dishes from Ronnie’s bestselling new book, Barbecue Secrets DELUXE!, including:
* Grilled Asparagus with Chipotle and Roasted Garlic Aioli
* Grilled Quesadillas

Not only is this incredible value on its own, we will now be including wine tastings, pairing for each of the dishes with wines courtesy of Ravenswood California Zinfandel.
