The other day I made crispy baked tilapia coated in panko which makes things crispier than regular bread crumbs. I was happily dipping the fish in ketchup (go ahead and judge me for my uncouth dipping choice but I love the stuff) when the hubby suggested what we really needed was tartar sauce...

Can't wait to try this mojito! It's not easy finding good mocktails for the holidays when you're pregnant.

FB Foodies Face-off
Hello Food Network fans! Today is national Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day (we swear we didn’t make this up). What a foodtastic reason then to kick off our very first FB Foodies Face-off, AKA “Triple F: No Holds Barred. Be there! Be there! Be there!” Hehehe. Ahem… Here’s how it works:

1. Check out the... inspiration recipe, David Rocco’s Clean Out the Fridge Frittata: http://www.foodtv.ca/recipes/recipedetails.aspx?dishid=5351

2. Now make your own using whatever ingredients you’d like and cooked anyway you see fit. Remember, there’s no point in crying over cracked eggs.

3. Post a photo of your final creation to our wall and give it an awesome, original name. Include a short note letting everyone know what you included in your frittata. If your roommate liked it, we want to know. If your kids adored it, we want to know. If you’ve taken a lovah and they hated it… we’ll, there’s always couple’s therapy.

4. Let the liking frenzy begin. Like (and/or leave comments) on everyone’s submissions and corral your FB friends to do the same for you. If they don’t, you can always employ that handy “ignore” option moving forward. It’s petty, but it’s so gonna happen, lol.

Ok, what are you waiting for? This is no time to be easy like Sunday morning, there’s frittata to be made. And may the drop dead gorgeous aura of Mr. David Rocco be with you friends!

Heat olive oil in a non-stick pan. Add potatoes, red peppers, and onions - cook for 5 minutes, or until vegetables are soft.

Olive oil is ok for most day to day kitchen cooking. It's really high heats, or the smoking point that you want to avoid. If you want to fry something, choose a different oil (I use peanut)

(Michael Smith's on the left, my humble rolls on the right -- not too bad right?)  Although I’ve never baked cinnamon rolls, let alone knead anything in my life, I felt pretty confident they would turn out. After all I was using a Michael Smith recipe. I trust the man. H...

I find pre-shredded very convenient but very much more expensive...that being said, life is too short...if I can save a little time, why not. Not using pre-shredded is a "nice to have" option but if it shaves a few minutes off of the cooking process and on to the friends and family...why not?
