Thanks for the great turnout at The Tenant's screening. And special thanks to Ramon Kubicek who heroically pitched in at the least minute to lead our post-screening discussion. Ramon's comments helpfully clarified the multiple layers of meaning within The Tenat. One the one hand, the narrattive of the film spoke to one man's descent into paranoia ... See Moreand identity disintegration. But as Ramon pointed out, the film was also Polanski's own story of alienation and persecution, as well as a reflection of the horrific politically and sociallly sanctioned persecution of 'outsiders' that was so rampant within 20th century Europe.
