Amazing. I saw these guys at Cropredy back in '05, and if you ever have a chance to see them you MUST. One of the best musical performance I've ever witnessed. In addition to being incredibly talented, they are VASTLY entertaining! Their version of "Psycho Killer" will floor you.

The Fretboard Journal I've heard far too many stories about stolen guitars. For a nice change, here's one about a guitar the thieves didn't take. Do any of you out there have a similar story of the one that didn't get away?

Source: www.robhudak.com
This is my Univox. The only guitar to survive an instrument theft from my Ford Econoline that was parked outside of the YMCA I was working at in Youngstown, Ohio one summer. It was gotten on trade that I would have regretted if it weren’t for this guitar being part of it. ...

1n 1967, I got so annoyed at the musicianship among the acid rockers that I decided to quit music, and left my 1960 Fender Concert 4x10 in the car overnight on Haight St , "hoping somebody'd steal it." Sure enough, it was gone. Didn't quit music, just made me mad at myself. Had to buy a new amp, and Jerry Garcia didn't get any better...

The Fretboard Journal It's been a while since I ran a What the Heck Is He Playing ? clip so I thought it was time I posted one. The last couple of times you guys figured it it out in less than 3 minutes but this time I think it will take you a bit longer to puzzle out what three, yes three, double necks guitars the Fresno surf band the Neptunes are playing in this clip.

Source: www.youtube.com
The Neptunes: Tom Walzem plays lead on his signature doubleneck electric @ Brookdale Lodge 2005... Phil Dirt's "farewell party"... Many bands (including the Aquamarines) participated...

We had a Gypsy jazz post yesterday and surf guitar post today, so why not bring the two together with Tom Walzem and the Neptunes doing "Minor Surf," a reverb drenched, twanging version of Django's "Minor Swing." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptHbHj0QzSc

The Fretboard Journal This clip is the opposite of the What The Heck Is He Playing? posts I run from time to time. In this one, we all know exactly what Adrien Moignard is playing: a 1946 Selmer guitar with the serial number of 607. He, along with a number of other fine players, made a CD where they each recorded a track playing that guitar. For more on the project, you can go here: http://www.selmer607.com/eng/

Adrien Moignard plays "Billets Doux" on an authentic Selmer guitar (#607). This is an alternate take, the album take is even better. From "Selmer #607" recording sessions. More to come... Web : www.selmer607.com (français) Web : www.selmer607.com/eng/ (english) MySpace : www.myspace.com/selmer607

The Fretboard Journal Just try this with a wooden guitar! Look for a story by Henry Kaiser in an upcoming issue.

One of the things that I have always loved about the McMurdo dive locker is diving supervisor Rob Robbins' simply great taste in music, and the tunes that DJ Rob selects to play in the background while we are working in the locker. ...

I wonder how often Henry needs to change strings when he plays under water. ;-)

Oh cool. I've seen far too many blogs abandoned only to be "resurrected" by spammers looking to get a few hits off of the pages.

The Fretboard Journal I just created a (hopefully growing) list of luthiers/instrument builders on Twitter. If I'm missing anyone, let me know. And check out some of the photos Vermont Instruments has been posting. Great stuff. http://twitter.com/fbjournal/luthiers

No problem, Robert. If there's enough interest (and enough of you are on Twitter), it might be fun to make a list of FJ readers on Twitter. You guys would all get along nicely. Any interest in this?
