agree, but do something, we don't need words.
Deborah at 7:48pm June 30
I agree that change comes much too slowly, but at least it's in the wind now. . . Remember that he included us in his acceptance speech. . . Obama's on the right track. We shouldn't be complacent, but we must also acknowledge that there are multiple , I many MANY pressing issues for him to address. I think that he knows how important the GLBT agenda items are, and that he is committed to equalizing our playing field.

That doesnt mean to say it's ok to hate muslims. Sure we dont agree with those laws. I am gay myself but why make it personal. Calling them bastads etc really doesn't help. Comments like this will only serve to go against our cause. Maybe it was what you had in your bag:)

WELL, IT'S ABOUT TIME OBOMA DID SOMETHING RIGHT !

At the Beijing Olympics last year, there were only 10 athletes (nine female and one male) that were out to the media about their sexuality. We need more athletes with the balls of Martina Navrtilova to shatter those closet doors of the sports world...
William at 8:51pm June 29
It will happen, give it time. Did you see the meeting of the President and Mrs. Obama with a delegation of various GLBT groups and the wonderful response he received from his remarks. We have to be patient because the writing is on the wall and we will come into our own.
Laynie at 5:27am June 30
I do not think balls is the word, please could the word courage be used, I got a lot of courage, but I sure ant got nor do i aspire to balls. or we could say the ovaries? maybe, languge can be very powerful.

I agree that no boy shouldn be forced to come out and I don't think that is the problem. I think the problem sits with the media and its take on homosexuality.

Anna at 5:35am June 24
I've seen parts of Borat and got disappointed. Sometimes Cohen went too far, e.g. when he attacked Pamela Anderson. It was rather violent than funny (if you've ever been a woman who got assaulted you'll agree with me). Maybe this guy and his intelligence/ sense of humour are just overestimated. We would like to like him, because everybody else ... Read Moreseems to do so, and therefore we try to justify what he does by finding all sorts of reasons why his satire is sooo great and funny and critical and satirical and intelligent. We just want to have a good laugh and agree with everybody else. I'm not an exception so I'll watch the movie. I hope it's not as bad as I'm afraid it will be.

So, as you may have heard, last night in Toronto, gossip queen Perez Hilton called Will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas a “faggot” and ended up getting a black eye himself (see raw footage above). Now when you’re a celebrity like Perez is and you need to file a police report, what do you do...

If the militant social classes of Pakistan were satirized in the same, outlandish way in a film, I think sadly, there would be many Pakistani's who would lack a sense of humour as well about it. But, we could say that they just don't get it or that it was brilliant! (and it may make us feel better about ourselves) ;-) sometimes the truth hurts.
Amanda at 9:19am June 25
I think that a lot of gay people seem content with perpetrating the gay stereotype all by themselves. I've seen gay men who aren't involved in a scene go from 'normal' to over the top camp purely because they felt that they had to 'act' gay.
I like Sacha Baron Cohen because he does explore society and it's reactions, but like anyone he does offend ... Read Moresome people. Unfortuntly you can't make everyone happy all of the time. So no, I don't think he's mocking us, rather shining a light on how gay people are percieved and how we ACT rather than just be.
