We cannot sail on this retro wave forever, the Coupe 60 concept is another great evidence that GM's Holden division is a most excellent new and innovative group of people. I'd love to see GM put performance 4 and 6 cyl diesels in coupe's and performance passenger cars on the US market. The rest of the world is, the large $$ syndicates have lobbied hard against it in the US it seems......and it has worked.

+1 Ronny ... that was Lutz's origional vision with the 04-06 GTO... How the Goat would have looked, had it stayed in production. I'm not a huge fan of reproductions either, but some "nods to the past" are nice. IMO, the Coupe 60 is awesome and would love to see it in the US.

IMO also, if it's performance Ronny, it HAS to be RWD or at least AWD.

I bet, I kinda wish GM would come out with a new model that looks like te early 70's ones.

That would be nice, but I don't thnk that will happen. I like the older ones, simple and ALOT cheaper to fix, besides if they came out with a new one they would screw it up somehow. I've had alot of newer vehicles but now I have a excellent 1997 GMC Truck and that will probably be the newest vehicle I will ever buy, even that can be a little pricey to fix sometimes but it has been one of the best trucks I've ever owned.

Not going to happen. But the next thing is to buy an '10 Camaro and put the Trans Am kit on it.

Tim Dixon If I hear one more person say... Toyota is built in the USA, I'll puke! They might be built here but use your head, if their headquarters is in Japan then where do you think that corporations profits are spent? Hint... not in America geniuses...

When you buy a big 3 Car or truck you are directly injecting your hard earned money back into the economy that you live and work in. Some of that money will go into schools, crime prevention, roads, bridges, defense, health care, social security, etc. This is not true in the purchase of a imported vehicle.
Here is some interesting info I found...
A group called the level field institute was formed to actually find out how and where the money goes from the purchase of cars and truck.

They came up with the JPC rating. Jobs per Car rating. ... Read More

When the 2008 Holden Coupe 60 appeared, it could have been the next Pontiac GTO. We drive this 400-hp full-size coupe from Australia and dream of what might have been.

if GM produced cars like this for its mass markets, it would definately pull more costumers from other brands... Id definately get one after I finish college. I wouldn't give up my Monte Carlo though... just finished putting a supercharger on the 3800 NA. I never understood why GM didnt put the 3800 S/C in the SS for 00-03. It took them till 04 to do it.

The fact that the Commodore/ Caprice are not sold in NA is a travesty that typlifies GM. We put up with the outdated Impala because " I'm not a fan of rebadging" and "a business case can't be made"? Then why are we getting a "police only" Caprice? Look at your own pics of the Caprice, Commodore Sports wagon, and the ne...w Astra. These are the cars we need. The Cruze is a step up, but the Asta is a leap up. Why are we always stuck with second best?Read More

Hey Blaine. Wasn't quite sure how to answer that question.
I like puppies, long walks on the beach and Chevy cars? :)
Anyway, you are right on. Technically, the Corp. may call that rebadging, but it is not the type of rebadging that flooded our line up for the last 10-15 years. A guy like Bob Lutz understands the difference. Thanks

I agree that is shouldn't do too much damage but I think that'll hinge on how aggressively they source out the probem and solve it.

Mohammed Bawazir I hope, GM can get us a similer fans group especially for GM Middle-East. This is going to be very helpful marketing strategy for Middle-East region. Hiroshi & Osamu Group is not sufficient and porfessional. It's only about Chevy (There is nothing about Caddy and GMC)
