why would you put a foreign link on and American company's page?

why? because in Europe (also in ITALY), GM sells its vehicles in over 40 markets. It operates 10 vehicle-production and assembly facilities in seven countries and employs around 54,500 people. Many additional directly related jobs are provided by some 8,700 independent sales and service outlets. I drive an Opel/Vauxhall.

the suburban might be the best, large, SUV created. not only is it one the the SAFEST vehicles ever made, it is a thousand times better than the "mini van" (the other 'family' car). i'm sorry for whoever feels intimidated out on the highway with these badass cars on the road, but get over it. this is America, not Europe. if you like little toy cars, go elsewhere.

GM is not cutting the full sized SUV segment because they dominate it with models such as the Traverse, Suburban, Acadia, Taho, Enclave,and I think the Escalade is still around. If you had any idea what goes into a trans rebuild, you'd understand why. Factor in the labor of dropping the trans from the truck, (usually two hours) then teardown the trans itself, anf rebuild using new parts, gears, clutches, rings, etc, then reinstall. Considering how much a trans shop will take in as well, it usually gets done in maybe a week... Read More (they can't focus on just one car, they usually space out job from job) or if you really want to save costs, find a trans off a junker, and have it installed, I've seen salvaged tranny swaps range from $600-$1000 depending on the truck/shop/source.

Chris is dead on...a three grand requild for a truck tranny is par for the course. Some shops will let you pay the work off if you have good credit.

It may be worth the fix...you'll have to assess the shape of your truck and whether you really need a truck. If you have less than 200k on it there may be lots of life left in the vehicle...full size ... Read Moregm trucks can last quite a long time.

I hate hearing people toss a vehicle over a tranny...it's probably the only major component issue you will ever have with that truck

hands down fords are a batter work truck, but I think ford and chevy should take out the jap trucks, cause there really a waste, and are way to gay, and the new i am ram commercial, should put ram into its death bed, look up a spoff for it on you tube, and you will find humour.

I support MY COUNTRIES workforce I said if I could not find a product I liked made here in the USA I would buy it from an AMerican company no mtter where it was made ok?? there is a BIG difference there

You know, being totally honest, until I saw the new LaCrosse in person, I was not a fan. I was one of the ones that thought Buick was for the "older" market. Wow, was I mistaken. I like it! (That being said, I'd remove the fake heat extractors). After seeing the new Regal, I'm liking the direction GM is taking as well.
