Genesis Health System Illini Ambulance Service at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus in Silvis is strengthening its service to East Moline and other communities by adding a "hub" at 730 Avenue of the Cities in East Moline. Genesis Health System In the past 10 years, 25 percent of the primary site breast cancers diagnosed by the Genesis Center for Breast Health have been in women between the ages of 40 and 50 years old.

Genesis Health System At this time, Genesis Center for Breast Health professionals are still advising women that they should have their first mammogram at 40 years old, or earlier, with family history of breast cancer, and are still advising women to practice self-examination. We will talk about this on Genesis Today on the radio Saturday; 8 a.m. on WOC (1420) with Center for Breast Health manager Cindy McGee.

Thank you!! This only makes sense. Myself and most everyone I know who has had breast cancer had it in their 40's!!!! 2 of my friends died in their 40's of breast cancer. Without mammograms for 40 plus women, my friends would have died sooner and I may be dead too!!!

Genesis Health System If you need a break on a dreary day, join us for Cary Grant in the classic "Arsenic and Old Lace" at the beautiful Adler Theatre Thursday at 2 p.m. In November, it has to be a Cary Grant movie. He died in Davenport before a one-man show scheduled for the Adler Theatre. The movie is free as part of HealthQuest Film Series.

Genesis Health System Radiologist Dr. Rita Pelsang of the Genesis Center for Breast Health will be live in the WHBF studio for 5 p.m. news talking about new recommendations that first mammograms should be done at 50 years old, not 40. Check it out.

Early detection is key--shame on the those that want to save a buck instead of saving people and their families. If they seen cancer and its effects first hand, they wouldn't be so quick to see the bottom line so easily.
