Gourmet Imports
Oktoberfestwill be an occasion to delve into thewonderful world of pairing beers & cheeses.
Though our cheese most often finds itslef paired with wines, we must recognize the ever growing presence of premium / artisan beers in the L.A. restaurant scene and the obligation we have to help beer claim its rightful place on... the gustatory ladder.
Many have argued that beer is actually a better match to cheese than wine due to the lower acidity of beer and the complementing fermentationof the two. We will cover this and many other topics during this fun & informative event. Alex Brown our own resident cheese monger along with Kevin Kansy, owner of Artisan Ales (a specialty beer distributor), will host the class.
This event is being offered free of chargeto our loyal customers (max 2 per business please). Space is limited, so we ask that you kindly RSVP byOctober 19th, 2009.

After a most satisfying dim sum brunch at Elite in Alhambra (my two teenagers may have cleaned them out of pork buns), and a mostly satisfying stop for back-to-school clothes, we figured we'd make a quick detour for some fancy...
