Gray's Lake Park Winter means the return of eagles to Gray's Lake Park. A symbol of hope in the ability of our environment to recover, eagles are now commonly seen in downtown Des Moines in the winter. Find them perched high in the cottonwood trees near the lake and river.

Gray's Lake Park Gray's Lake is dimming down - or at least testing whether or not we can reduce the lighting at the park to conserve energy and lessen the impact on our pocket book while not compromising your safety. Gray's Lake Park In the 1950s, quarry operations on the east side of the lake cease after years of fires and floods. Park proponents try to persuade Council to use City’s power of eminent domain to condemn Brown property (western portion), Council refuses. A pattern through years: Council agrees it's a nice park but rather hope some...one will donate the land instead of purchasing it. Pressure for commercial development continues.

Flickr is almost certainly the best online photo management and sharing application in the world. Show off your favorite photos and videos to the world, securely and privately show content to your friends and family, or blog the photos and videos you take with a cameraphone.

Marian Do you have any information regarding the installation of the memorial plates on the bridge - when will that happen?

Gray's Lake Park Eco-artists John and Sherri Selin were invited to creatively place natural and ethereal art around the park the past few weeks. All created with natural objects from the park. Keep your eyes peeled for more to come. In 2010 they will host some community art-building events.
