GreenDig I'm getting more and more scared about the epidemic of science illiteracy. Religion belongs in church, not in school.

H.S. teacher assigns scientific article on homosexuality in the animal kingdom and is suspended. People... science might be inconvenient but it is true.

I'm getting more worried about the growing ranks of parents who would rather have their kids indoctrinated with religious beliefs, instead of being instructed on real science. It's a big problem, folks.

New study claims meat is responsible for 50% of greenhouse gas emissions. But let's not forget, soy production is a leading cause of deforestation, responsible for a quarter of GHG emissions.

Oh Bullshit. Soy isn't the leading cause of deforestation. IKEA is. Just like with the alternative medicines: the industries attack...you can feed more people on the agriculture ingested by a cow than with a cow. Silly cows.

No deforestation is the leading cause of global warming. In some areas (Brazil for example) soy is responsible for 70% + of denuded lands.

Of course deforestation is driving climate change. I question the soy factor. Nonetheless, take the land in Texas for cattle and grow the soy there - but to kind of suggest that meat markets and agricultural markets are similar is a stretch.
