Greenpeace Aotearoa New Zealand A compromise deal in Copenhagen means the talks are back on - the deal is that the rest of this week will have 60% of time dealing with developed world targets and 40% for everything else - NZ has almost run out of time to get its special deal rule changes agreed and will have to talk about its weak targets tomorrow. African walk out was a geniune attempt to get the developed world to increase its targets.

Here's hoping they find a compromise without the developing nations washing their hands of it altogether. (Fingers, shoulders, knees and toes crossed)

It’s been a dramatic first day at the climate change negotiations here in Barcelona and it’s fair to say frustration with developed countries like New Zealand has exploded.

and yes, new zealand is being really lame on this. the shithead right wing is currently in power here. i hope the other nations of the world heap scorn on them and shame them into sane action.
