Austin actually it was Boom Boom Geofrion a Montreal Canadien that invemted the slap shot. Bobby Hull" aka the Golden Jet" was the first player to have been clocked hitting over 100 MPH with his slap shot.

Yes, it was "Boom Boom" Geoffrion who brought the slap shot into play in the NHL. Hull put it over the top in terms of popularity though.

bobby Orr dominated becuase there was noone else there. Doug Harvey was the first offensive defenseman in the 1950's even though Cherry says orr was.
