Winter Rail Jam - Snowboarders and skiiers will rock the rails of the 30 foot high ramp recently constructed in the parking lot of The B.O.B. Visitors to the outdoor event can enjoy music, live radio broadcasts, food, raffle prizes and a chance to watch the athletes compete. Admission is free and Mustard Plug will perform live on Sunday at 5 p.m.
The Great Food & Wine Symposium - One of West Michigan's premier wine and food tasting events returns to the Grand Rapids Public Museum with dozens of vendors presenting more than 300 gourmet beverages and tastings. Live classical music will provide a relaxing background to the WGVU Public Television fundraiser. Tickets are $50 each; ages 21+ welcome.
Will Gray - Calvin College hosts the concert featuring the independent Hip-Hop/Americana artist at the Ladies Literary building downtown. Gray has shared the stage or collaborated with a wide variety of artists including Erykah Badu, Jurassic 5, Jars of Clay and Jimmy Buffet. Ticket are $10 for the public, $5 for Calvin students.
Intersection Unplugged - The best of Grand Rapids solo and acoustic acts come together for a special unplugged show on two stages at The Intersection. Local musicians scheduled to perform include Jason Eller, Frankie Ballard, Spencer Mulder and Brian Grooms from FledFive. Tickets are $3 in advance, $5 at the door; ages 18+ only.
Hopcat's New Brewery - Hopcat celebrates the grand opening of its new brewery and will become one of the only local and statewide establishments to serve both its own beers and those of other breweries. The brews made on premise will include an IPA, an American Porter and a dry English Bitter. Local bluesman Jimmie Stagger will take the stage around 9 p.m.

Winter Beer Festival - From noon until 5 p.m., sample beers outdoors at Fifth Third Ballpark from dozens of breweries around Michigan, including Grand Rapids' own Founders, Hideout, Hopcat, The B.O.B, Schmohz and Grand Rapids Brewing Company, plus other West Michigan faves New Holland and Walldorff. Tickets are $35 and include 12 drink tokens.
Disney on Ice - Disney celebrates 100 Years of Magic on the ice at Van Andel Arena February 26-March 1. 65 of Disney's unforgettable characters like Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald Duck, Jiminy Cricket, Pinocchio and all the Disney Princesses from 18 beloved stories come to life during the show. Tickets to the family event are $12-$55 per person.
Ladysmith Black Mambazo - The 10-member Grammy-award winning (and nine-time nominee) South African a capella group joins the Grand Rapids Symphony for an evening of soulful rhythms and gospel at DeVos Performance Hall. Tickets start at $23.
Outhouse 500 - It's the 5th year for the wacky event in downtown Coopersville where teams parade around and then race their uniquely decorated outhouses down Main Street. The races begin at 11 a.m. and other activities include a chili cook-off, entertainment tent and a new & vintage snowmobile display. Free admission.
Mardi Gras Muskegon - Oakridge Golf Club on Pontaluna Road in Muskegon will be transformed into a slice of Bourbon Street from 7 p.m. until midnight with New Orleans-style food, beads, masks, live music and more. Tickets are $20.

Butterflies are Blooming - The butterflies are back at Meijer Gardens now through April 30. More than 6,000 butterflies represented by over 40 species will fly free through the 15,000 square foot Tropical Conservatory. Visitors can also watch the butterflies emerge from their chrysalises at a special viewing bungalow. Admission is $12 for adults and $4-$6 for kids and the ticket includes access to all of the Gardens, along with the new Borofsky exhibit.
West Michigan Motorcycle Show - The 8th annual show at DeVos Place will have hundreds of bikes on display from more than 60 area dealers and exhibitors, as well as custom motorcycles and a feature showcase from David Cook, AMD Champ featured on the Discovery Channel. The popular Biker Build-off competition also returns this year. Admission: $9 for adults and $5 for kids 5-12; children 5 and under are free.
